Class 4W Enjoy World Cup Fever Day 2026!
Class 4W had a fantastic time taking part in our school's World Cup Fever Day 2026. Following the school draw, we were delighted to represent Turkey and spent the day learning about the country whilst enjoying a range of exciting World Cup-themed activities.
The day began with an opening ceremony streamed into the classroom, where the children learned about the day ahead and celebrated the spirit of teamwork, sport and countries from around the world. We then held our own Turkey Team Talk, where the children discovered fascinating facts about Turkey, including its landscapes, famous cities, traditional foods, national flag and football culture.
Throughout the day, the children took part in a variety of football-themed activities, including inflatable challenges, football skills and a woodland stadium-building challenge, where they worked together to create imaginative football stadiums using natural materials. They also enjoyed a special World Cup-themed lunch, which added to the excitement of the day.
In the afternoon, the whole school joined together for a giant Mexican Wave before Class 4W took part in an energetic street dance session. The children then worked in teams to prepare and deliver presentations about Turkey, confidently sharing what they had learned about the country's geography, culture, food and sporting traditions. The day finished with the ever-popular Beat the Goalie challenge. The children gave it their best effort, but Mr Cotterill proved to be a tough goalkeeper to beat!
It was a fantastic day filled with learning, teamwork, creativity and sporting fun. Well done to Class 4W for representing Turkey with such enthusiasm and pride – Haydi Türkiye!
