Vision, Mission Statement and Values

We all play a hugely influential role in the lives of children and we must give the children the right messages. At Bleak Hill we have a simple Vision for all our children: At Bleak Hill we have one WISH, to be ...

W - Welcoming

I - Inclusive

S - Safe

H - Happy

Our Mission Statement is quite clear -

We make a WISH and REACH ...

  • We are an inclusive school where everyone is valued, respected and understood.
  • We provide a broad, balanced and bespoke REACH curriculum that is accessible to all.
  • Well-being is at the centre of all we do, ensuring support is available for our school community.
  • High expectations are set using a value-centred approach to ensure that behaviour and attitudes remain exemplary throughout school.
  • We provide an outstanding and stimulating environment that extends beyond the classroom and enhances our children's experiences.

Positive values improve self-esteem and confidence; create a better atmosphere and environment for all; encourage children to become more aware of their behaviour; have a positive impact on behaviour; teach children to value themselves, each other and their environment; support the development of the whole child; allow children to discover the best of themselves; and prepare children to become valued citizens in the real world.

A year of Bleak Hill Values ensures that the children know what these values mean and how they can be seen. Bleak Hill Values are closely linked with our promotion of British Values within school and are important to all children, staff, parents and governors. We have set two values every half term, and our merit awards focus on children who display these values.
