Sadly, due to the Covid-10 pandemic, we will not be able to offer school visits to prospective parents this year ahead of the closing date for September 2021 applications in January.  However, we will be offering a virtual tour, here on our website, which will be available at the start of October.  Please check back then to have a look around our lovely school.

Thank you for visiting our school website.

If you are new to our school we offer you a very warm and friendly welcome. If you already have a child in school we are pleased to renew the links between us.

Bleak Hill aims to be a very open school, encouraging parents and carers to take as wide an interest and involveme
nt as possible.

We hope that our website will give you a flavour of our school and a feeling of the caring and stimulating environment of which we are proud.

Confidence in a school comes from knowing and understanding what is happening within it. We hope that you will extend your knowledge through contact and discussions with myself and members of our school community. It is important that there is mutual understanding and trust in our partnership so that your child can achieve and attain all that he/she is capable of during the time spent at Bleak Hill Primary School.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Ian Wellens

Charlotte Baines Award

Charlotte was a bubbly mischievous 10 year old when she died from a brain tumour. She was a very caring child and loved everything pink and sparkly. Her  classmates wanted to have a place to sit and remember her, they asked school to create the ‘thinking garden’ which they did. Please visit whenever you want a little peace and quiet.

We introduced the ‘Charlotte (Lottie) Baines’ award to Bleak Hill. This is an award for school to choose a child who has survived a difficult time in their lives. Life doesn’t get much more difficult for children than the impact from the Covid 19 virus.

Life with Covid19 has been very challenging for lots of people in many ways, but particularly for young people.  With this in mind, in 2020 school wanted to show you all how wonderful you have been, to appreciate what you have achieved and to show to everyone how amazingly brave you are. We all felt the way to do this is for the Baines family to present you all, each and everyone of the children from Bleak Hill, with the Charlotte Baines trophy this year. Be proud of yourselves, because Charlotte would be very proud of you.

Bleak Hill Primary School aims to provide every member of our school community with an environment which enables them to be happy, healthy and safe, in order to be highly motivated lifelong learners.
