YR6 - Ecolibrium - 16th November 2017

Lesson: Learning Outside the Classroom

Class: Year 6 Year: 2017 - 2018

How lucky are we to have another afternoon of dazzling winter sunshine - incredible!  This week we started work on a new task:

  • Building a bird habitat - we dragged branches, sticks and twigs of all shapes and sizes to form the outer shape of the habitat.  It is quite a large space, so should attract a number of different types of birds during the gardening year.

We also spent a good chunk of time exploring the gardens to find a variety of: flowers, leaves, bugs, toadstools, woodlice, snails, millipedes and more!  We then examined our findings using a magnifying glass, in order to get up close and personal with nature.  This was great fun!

As usual we enjoyed another delicious snack.  This week we used leeks out of the garden to make leek and potato soup - it went down a treat!
