Lesson: Learning Outside the Classroom

Class: Year 5 Year: 2017 - 2018

Mid January and we're back outside gardening! Today 5A had the opportunity to spend the afternoon in the polytunnel and learn about some winter gardening survival tips!  They carried out a number of jobs:

  • Planting Primulas into pots
  • Making some bird feeders out of cardboard, peanut butter and bird seeds
  • Watering all of the window boxes around the school
  • Digging up leeks from the garden to make leek and potato soup!

The children had a wonderful afternoon - they enjoyed helping in the school gardens and thought the homemade soup was simply delicious!
