YR5 - Ecolibrium - 11th Jan 2018

Lesson: Learning Outside the Classroom

Class: Year 5 Year: 2017 - 2018

5J have had a super afternoon in the school garden with John and Sue from Ecolibrium.

We started the session talking about seed dispersal and discussed the various ways that seeds can be dispersed: wind, animals and explosions to name a few.

We then got hands-on and had great fun throwing a very sticky burdock seed onto our coats, before spliting into groups to identify a variety of other seeds: sweetcorn, pumpkin, acorn, conkers, beetroot, sunflowers, peas and coconuts!

Our session ended with us listening to a mass of popcorn seeds popping away - homemade popcorn, simply delicious!
