Y4 Arts Week - 30.10.17 - 3.11.17

Lesson: Art and design

Class: Year 4 Year: 2017 - 2018

As part of Arts Week, Year 4 have been studying the Australian artist and sculptor Paul Selwood.

The children have used Ipads to research information about Paul Selwood which they have used to then create a fact file about the artist.

They have studied lots of different pieces from his collection and have commented using artistic language and vocabulary on what they can see, the materials that have been used, the mood that is created and whether they like or dislike the piece.

Using Paul's work as an inspiration, the children have then created their own 3D sculptures following the same process as Selwood. They sketched their ideas, used paper maquettes and finally produced larger sculptures as groups.

Well done Year 4! We are very impressed with your enthusiasm and hard work this week, as well as your wonderfully creative sculptures! You should be very proud to show them off next Friday at our school exhibition.
