Significant Individuals

Learning about significant individuals helps children to study the ever changing times in which they live in more generally. They can see what circumstances the different individuals faced and what they had to overcome to bring about change. Becoming interested in inspirational people from history is a great way for children to learn about historical events and periods in general by wanting to know more about the life and times of that person. 

The study of inspirational people covers lots of history curriculum topics like british monarchs, significant british inventions, creators, scientist, explorers and people who fought for their beliefs. It also feeds into an understanding of other subjects and topics.

Each term, we celebrate diverse, significant individuals who have made contributions to the world we live in.
