Change 4 Life Club
Change 4 Life
Change 4 Life is back up and running at Bleak Hill with all Year 5 pupils receiving training to run the club. We now have a rota in place and the club runs for 4 lunchtimes. The Year 5 pupils are working with Year 1 and Year 3 to try to encourage them to be more active. The games are really good fun and involve so e new and exciting equipment. A great start to the club lets hope we can keep it going and maintain the membership of 180 children.
Change 4 Life Brings Festival Fun to KS1
On a lovely Thursday afternoon just before the end of term year 5 leaders planned and organised a festival of fun for all Key Stage 1 pupils. The children had 15 different activities to try, most involving a competition. Bleak Hill continue to reinforce the importance of regular exercise to maintain a healthy active lifestyle. Watch this space for more Change 4 Life activities at the start of the new school year. In the meantime check out the Change 4 Life website for ideas on how you can be active over the summer holidays with your family.
Change 4 Life Launch Festival
All Year 3 pupils enjoyed a morning of activity at Edge Hill University on Tuesday 1st July as part of the Change 4 Life programme. They were there to launch the St Helens Primary Schools Change 4 Life programme and were able to try out some new equipment which will be coming in to primary schools. Over 40 primary schools will be involved in this programme starting in September 2014. The session was delivered by Edge Hill students many of whom had delivered the Health Week in May. This is proving to be a great partnership between school and the university!
Well done to our two Year 5 pupils who have been selected as Bleak Hill's Young Ambassadors in recognition of their contribution to the Change 4 Life programmes. These pupils will endeavour to be role models when delivering their activity sessions during lunchtime. They will take a lead on ensuring that the activities delivered to year 2 pupils are fun, well organised and suitable. Well done and good luck in your new role.
Change 4 Life Club
At Bleak Hill Primary School we are keen to promote Healthy Active Lifestyles, as a result of this we have set up a Change 4 Life Club. The club is being run by our Year 5 pupils on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday lunchtime. All pupils in Year 2 will at some point attend the Change 4 Life Club, that is 60 pupils in total. The Year 5 leaders plan and organise lots of different fun activities which will encourage the Year 2 pupils to be more active. Mrs Kells is hoping to encourage Year 5 pupils to also be more active and they will be encouraged to complete a Change 4 Life logbook which will track activity levels and healthy eating.
